Linked Folders
Use Linked Folders to reduce configuration effort.
Many SCADA applications have duplicated equipment. For example:
- A storage facility might have multiple identical silos.
- A pump station might have multiple sets of pumps and control valves.
- A gas production field might have multiple identical wellheads.
- A bottling plant might have more than one filling line.
To reduce your workload creating a SCADA application for duplicated equipment, Fernhill SCADA offers Linked Folders:

To use link folders, do the following:
- Create a Template Folder to represent an equipment type.
- Create a Linked Folder to represent each occurrence of an equipment type.
- For configuration properties in a Linked Folder that should not use the value from the Template Folder, turn off Track Template and set a value locally.
For more detailed information see the Linked Folders concepts page.
