There are three types of ODBC DSN:
DSN Type | Description |
---|---|
User | Visible only to the user that created the DSN. Can be created and configured without administrator privileges. |
System | Visible to all users on a computer. Requires administrator privileges to create and configure. |
File | Information about the connection is stored in a ".dsn" file. |
