Introduction

The OPC Server allows multiple instances of Fernhill SCADA to be aggregated into a single OPC Server. By default, Fernhill SCADA running on the local computer is visible to the OPC server.

OPC Server Administration Tool

The OPC Server Administration Tool allows you to:

Starting the OPC Server Administration Tool

On Windows 10 or Windows Server 2016 you can start the OPC Server Administration tool by:

  1. Opening the Start menu,
  2. Scroll down and expand Fernhill SCADA,
  3. Click on OPC Server Administration.

On Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012 you can start the OPC Server Administration tool by:

  1. Opening the Start screen,
  2. Click on OPC Server Administration.

On Windows 7, Windows Server 2008and Windows Vista you can start the OPC Server Administration tool by:

  1. Clicking on the Start button,
  2. Select All Programs,
  3. Expand the folder Fernhill SCADA,
  4. Click on OPC Server Administration.

Using the OPC Server Administration Tool

Use the buttons on the right side of the dialog to edit the list of computers that will be accessed through the OPC Server:

ButtonFunction
AddAdds a new computer name to the list.
EditEdits the currently selected computer.
RemoveRemoves the currently selected computer from the list.
Move UpMoves the currently selected computer one place up.
Move DownMoves the currently selected computer one place down.

You can choose whether analog values appear to OPC Clients as single precision floats (R4) or double precision floats (R8). To do this:

  1. Right click on an entry in the list.
  2. Choose a menu option.
