Introduction

The OPC Classic Server aggregates one or more Fernhill SCADA Server into a single OPC Classic Server. By default, Fernhill SCADA running on the local computer is visible to the OPC Classic Server.

Starting the OPC Classic Server Administration Tool

Fernhill SCADA places a shortcut to the OPC Classic Server Administration Tool on the Windows Start Menu. Use this table to find the shortcut based on the Version of Windows you are using:

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Click All apps
  3. Scroll down and expand Fernhill SCADA.

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Scroll down and expand Fernhill SCADA.

  1. Open the Start screen.
  2. Click the down arrow.
  3. Scroll right until you see the section Fernhill SCADA

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Select All Programs.
  3. Expand the folder Fernhill SCADA.

To provide more convenient access to the OPC Classic Server Administration Tool, use one or more of these methods:

Using the OPC Classic Server Administration Tool

Use the buttons on the right side of the dialog to change the list of computers:

ButtonFunction
AddAdds a new computer name to the list.
EditEdits the currently selected computer.
RemoveRemoves the currently selected computer from the list.
Move UpMoves the currently selected computer one place up.
Move DownMoves the currently selected computer one place down.

You can choose whether analog values appear to OPC Clients as single precision floats (R4) or double precision floats (R8). To do this:

  1. Right-click an entry in the list.
  2. Choose a menu option.
