Introduction

The OPC Classic Server aggregates one or more Fernhill SCADA Server into a single OPC Classic Server. By default, Fernhill SCADA running on the local computer is visible to the OPC Classic Server.

Starting the OPC Classic Server Administration Tool

To start the OPC Classic Server Administration tool on Windows 10, Windows Server 2019, or Windows Server 2016:

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Scroll down and expand Fernhill SCADA.
  3. Click on OPC Classic Server Administration.

On Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012 you can start the OPC Classic Server Administration tool by:

  1. Open the Start screen.
  2. Click on OPC Classic Server Administration.

On Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 you can start the OPC Classic Server Administration tool by:

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Select All Programs.
  3. Expand the folder Fernhill SCADA.
  4. Click on OPC Classic Server Administration.

Using the OPC Classic Server Administration Tool

Use the buttons on the right side of the dialog to change the list of computers:

ButtonFunction
AddAdds a new computer name to the list.
EditEdits the currently selected computer.
RemoveRemoves the currently selected computer from the list.
Move UpMoves the currently selected computer one place up.
Move DownMoves the currently selected computer one place down.

You can choose whether analog values appear to OPC Clients as single precision floats (R4) or double precision floats (R8). To do this:

  1. Right click on an entry in the list.
  2. Choose a menu option.
