Introduction

The WriteFileAndActivate Tag Command does the following.

1. Writes a configuration file to the outstation.
2. Activates the configuration.

Parameters

SourceFile : ARRAY[0..n] OF BYTE

The data to write to the file.

TargetFile : ANY_STRING

The name of the file to write in the outstation.

Remarks

The WriteFileAndActivate Tag Command completes immediately and does not wait for the file to be written. Use any of these tools in the Configuration Tool to monitor the progress of a file write and activate:

• The Tag Status Monitor for the DNP3 Outstation Tag lists any remaining file transfers.
• The Event Log records the progress of file transfers. To view the Event Log:
  1. In the Tag Window right-click the DNP3 Outstation Tag.
  2. Select Show Events, followed by Tag Commands.

If the outstation is associated with a Listening Endpoint channel, the file is transferred when the outstation connects.

You can execute WriteFileAndActivate Tag Command from:

• The Standard Tag Menu when used with one of the tags listed in the Applies To list.
• The .NET API. For an example see Executing a Tag Command from .NET Code.
